We love this classic house plant, the Zamioculcas Zamiifolia or "The ZZ Plant". The shiny, glossy leaves of the ZZ look beautiful and it is a great plant for the "forgetful plant parent" as it can be in lower light, and is ok to dry out between waterings!
Size: This plant is in a 4'' pot, and from the bottom of the pot to the top of the plant, measures from 7''-13''. As they mature, they can grow up to 3 ft tall.
Light: This plant can be in many different light levels from bright, indirect light to medium and low light. Never put in direct sun as this would be too much light. This plant works great for low-light corners and spaces!
Water: Water is dependent on light. If you place your ZZ in a lower light area, it will need less water. If your ZZ is in higher light, it will need more water. The ZZ is proficient at holding water both in its rhizome, stem, and leaves. Let the plant dry out between waterings. It is sensitive to overwatering. In the Winter, water at-most once per month. Never let this plant sit in water.
Temperature: These do well with common indoor home temperatures of 60-75 F.
Soil: The ZZ prefers well-draining potting soils that contain a high amount of perlite or sand within the mix (you can add more perlite or sand as-needed).
Fertilizing: During the main growing season Spring-Fall, feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer, once a month.
Flower: They produce a small flower that isn't showy. Typically when grown indoors it has no flower.
Toxicity: Toxic to animals & humans if ingested.
